So what is CH64 Inc doing for Neston?
Activity Groups
To
start with CH64 Inc is responding to locally identified needs. Two activity
groups have been set up to look at various issues. The first is an Events
Group, designed to develop projects such as a Summer Festival. This will
primarily enhance the events that currently take place in the area each Summer, as well as promote and publicise
those events to a wider audience. The Events Group is also interested in the
Government’s citizenship agenda and is currently looking at ways of celebrating
individuals, groups and life in general in Neston and
the surrounding area. The other activity group is a Strategic Youth Group which
will concentrate on developing a long-term plan aimed at addressing some of the
issues and concerns local people have about children and young people and the
activities on offer to them throughout the area.
If you are in interested in the work of either group or would like to join one
of them, please get in touch.
Forums
A
large part of CH64 Inc’s work is to ensure that local people have the
opportunity to put their issues and concerns to those who deliver our public
services. One of the best ways of doing this is by holding public forums. These
will be publicised well in advance and will be held
in a central location such as
Community & Voluntary Sector
Support
CH64
Inc is in the process of compiling a directory detailing the huge variety of
clubs, societies, associations, groups and agencies operating in the area.
The association is researching accessible and affordable venues and will
publish a list of these once the work has been completed.
Although it is anticipated that CH64 Inc will become a separate organisation to EPNAVCO, it will continue to work in
partnership to signpost groups and organisations to
EPNAVCO to enable them to access a range of services including training and
development, funding advice, information exchange and volunteering
opportunities amongst others.
